Steps for Applying for a Teaching Position within Riverside Unified School District

Step 1: Employment Opportunities

View current vacancies on this website under the "Employment" tab in the top right hand corner of this web page.


Step 2: Completion of application On-Line via EdJoin.org - (paper applications will not be accepted)
Complete the entire application packet on the EdJoin website (www.edjoin.org/riversideusd). You must submit and attach all of your documentation through EdJoin. We will not accept attachments via fax or email. Once you have submitted your application, EdJoin does not allow you to add any additional documents so make sure that you have all of your documents and attachments ready before you submit your application. Incomplete applications will not be considered. If you need assistance with the EdJoin website please contact them directly at 888-900-8945.

The following documents will be required for a complete application:

  • Letter of Interest - Addressed to Mrs. Michelle Cortes, Director of Personnel-Leadership and Development
  • Personal Résumé
  • Three current letters of recommendation
  • Copy of transcripts (Official Transcripts will be required at the time of hire)
  • Copy of CBEST
  • Copy of Credential/s or letter verifying Credential Status
  • Copy of CSET or Subject Matter Exam Waiver Letter

Step 3: Interview Process

Applications for Elementary, Secondary and Special Education will be reviewed by an Administrator from the Personnel Department and qualified candidates will be invited for an interview by telephone or email.

Please Note: Applications are reviewed to determine the most suitable and qualified candidates for current and anticipated vacancies.
After a conditional offer of employment, applicants will be required to pay the cost of all pre-employment processing which includes physical examinations (first time California employee), drug/alcohol screening, TB test and fingerprinting.

Step 4: Offer of Employment

An Administrator from the Personnel Department will contact candidates with an employment offer of employment.
